LifeCycle Team Departs Malta and Arrives in Jordan Ahead of Sunday Kick-Off

The 2025 LifeCycle Challenge team has departed Malta and arrived safely in Jordan, where this year’s extraordinary endurance challenge is set to begin on Sunday.

The team of cyclists and support crew touched down in Jordan and upon arrival the team travelled to Petra, an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site, where they will undergo final briefings, equipment checks, and acclimatisation before the official start. Themed the “Rose to Red” Challenge, this feat shall see the team cycle across a 2,000-kilometre route from the ancient, rose-red city of Petra all the way to the Red Sea coast in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Navigating desert landscapes, mountain passes, and long coastal stretches, the team’s feat is to cover the journey in ten days as they push their physical and mental limits in aid of renal patients.

The LifeCycle (Malta) Foundation is the only NGO in Malta dedicated entirely to renal health and has raised approximately EUR4 million over its 26 years of operation. Funds raised go towards the Traccia software that matches kidney donors and recipients at Mater Dei Hospital’s Renal Unit, supporting renal patients, purchasing equipment, and investing in research in collaboration with the University of Malta Research Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT).

The 2025 LifeCycle Challenge is supported by the main sponsor Nescafé and other sponsors amongst whom are Hili Ventures, Government of Malta Social Causes Fund, Smart Technologies Ltd, Brown’s Pharmacy, M&Z plc, Nuun Hydration, JPA, Laferla Insurance, Valletta Waterfront, Unicare, Mimici Foundation and The Web Ally.
