The 2024 Challenge: Botswana to South Africa in 10 days

Journey of Good Hope

Gabarone, Botswana to Cape Town, South Africa

“Journey of Good Hope” is a 2,000km mountain bike challenge from Gaborone in Botswana to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, to be completed in just 10 days.

The team will depart from Malta on Friday, October 25th, and return two weeks later on Friday, November 8th. The purpose of the journey is to raise both funds and awareness for individuals suffering from renal failure.

The LifeCycle Foundation, the sole charity in Malta dedicated to supporting renal patients, has been operating since 1999 and has organized challenges in 53 different countries, raising nearly €4 million in the process. This year marks our fourth visit to the African continent, with the route offering breathtaking scenery along the famous “Garden Route,” culminating in the iconic finish at the Cape of Good Hope.

Training will commence the week starting Sunday, June 30th, and applications will open next month, with a limited number of participants being accepted due to accommodation restrictions.
